Last Word on Skip..............I Hope

March 1, 2005 City Council meeting.

In response to Skip Alston charges of racism in the Housing & Community Development Department in Greensboro, Councilmember Florence Gatten outlined the effort that department has put forth to help such affordable housing projects succeed.

Councilmember Claudette Bouuoughs-White defended Alston. "Racism is a problem in Greensboro. Distrust is a problem in Greensboro" she said.

Councilmember Tom Phillips asked her for an example. He said, "Weve been asking for specifics. If you feel there's been racism, tell us about it".

Burroughs-White responded by saying, "It is alive and very well".

Specifics. Specifics. Specifics.

Skip, Claudette, it's time to PUT up or Shut up!
